Cycle Repairs and Maintenance.
I offer a range of services to cyclists. From access to spares, advice and fitting of accessories to curing your bike of most ills, there's a lot on offer. Home visits can be arranged in the Port Ellen area. Regular servicing keeps your bike running smoothly and may save you money on major repairs in the long term.
Service Packages:
Bronze Service ~ £10.00 excluding parts
- full safety check on all nuts, fittings, frame and forks.
- checking and adjustment of brakes
- checking and adjustment of gears
- lubrication of moving parts
- checking of tyres, tubes and inflation to correct pressure
- seatpost service and lubrication
This is a basic level of service recommended for bikes in light use. In case of need for further work or parts to keep your bike healthy, I'll tell you of additional costs before proceeding.
Silver Service ~ £25.00 excluding parts.
Includes all of Bronze Service plus:
- checking of all bearings for play and wear
- truing of wheels
- checking of chain for wear
This is a more in-depth level of service and is recommended for bikes in regular or intensive use. It covers areas of high wear. If further work or parts are needed I'll inform you.
Gold Service ~ £45.00 excluding parts.
Includes all of Silver Service plus:
- replacement of all bearings
- replacement of brake and gear cables
- readjustment of brakes and gears
- strip down and cleaning of headset, freewheel and bottom bracket
- cleaning of chain and gears
This is a full service and is recommended for bikes which are much loved and have had much use. If more work or parts are needed, I'll inform you.
For a Crud-Free Existence ~
£5.00 will treat your bike to a radical clean with eco-friendly bike-wash and protective spray! Chain cleaning £1.50, for a smoother and longer life. Free cleaning included in service of junior bikes (owners under 11 years old).
Other services ~
- puncture repair and tube replacement
- priority and emergency repairs
- assembly of bikes delivered by carrier
- full range of spares and accessories: helmets, lights, pumps, oil, rain covers etc.
- seized seatpost removal for the unwise who have not greased this most essential part
